Ancient Wood

Ancient Wood is a type of carbonized driftwood. It is popular in aquascaping due to its unique, natural appearance and suitability for creating stunning underwater landscapes.

Ancient Wood is durable and can withstand long-term submersion in water without breaking down or deteriorating.

While Ancient wood is inert for the most part, while it is actively releasing tannins into the water, it can slightly lower the pH of the water. This is usually a minor effect but should be monitored if precise water parameters are required.

Preparation:

• Soaking: Before placing Ancient Wood in an aquarium, you should soak it in water for several days to leach out any residual tannins and to ensure it sinks properly.
• Cleaning: It should be cleaned thoroughly before adding it to the aquarium to remove any debris or dust.
• Placement: Arrange the wood to create a natural look, considering how it will interact with other elements like plants and substrates.
